About Kinderchor

For over eighty years the German-American Children's Chorus has celebrated German culture and song.

Under the direction of Ms. Carol Himmel, this group of sixty-some children has performed in Germany, Disney World, Navy Pier, The Museum of Science and Industry, The Chicago Cultural Center, the National Saengerfest and many Chicago area events. Kinderchor will also be performing in Germany and Austria this summer.

Any child from four years old through eighteen years old, regardless of ethnic background, is welcome to join the chorus. We rehearse 9:00-10:00 Saturday mornings, September through May, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 4939 W. Montrose, Chicago.

Children ages 14 through 18 can also join the Jugendchor, which rehearses from 10:00-11:00, right after Kinderchor rehearsals.
